The South Caucasus region is one of the most important peripheral regions of Iran and is important from various political, economic and security aspects. Based on this, the main goal of this research is to investigate the impact of developments in the Caucasus, especially the 44-day Karabakh war, on Iran's policies. The main question of the research is that the developments in the Caucasus, especially the 44-day war in the Karabakh region between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020, have had an impact on Iran's policies in that region. Also, this hypothesis has been followed that it seems that the 44-day war and its developments in the Caucasus region with the increase in the offensive power of Azerbaijan, the increase in the possibility of formation of rival alliances and alliances and Iran's confrontation with geopolitical challenges, Iran's regional policy with a kind of security puzzle in this The area has faced. The results showed that the most important effects of the developments in the Caucasus, especially the 44-day war, on Iran's policies include Iran's confrontation with border threats and, as a result, the improvement of the military image of its foreign policy, the change in the direction of Iran's foreign policy to support the rights of Azerbaijan in recapturing the occupied territories, maintaining the policy of neutrality in This war has been the opposition to the possibility of changing the border with Armenia following the creation of the Zangezur Corridor, the aggressiveness of Azerbaijan's approach towards Iran, and the intensification of competition and conflict with Turkey and the Israeli, respectively. This research examines the dimensions of this issue in a descriptive-analytical way.
