Guide for Authors

  1. The West Asian Quarterly Journal, Due to its specialization, accepts articles relevant to politics, economy, culture, security-issues, anthropology and sociology related to the West Asia region.
  2. The article submitted for this publication should not be submitted to other journals at the same time.
  3. The official language of the quarterly is Persian, but the abstract of the articles in English (up to 300 words) is also necessary.
  4. In addition to the Persian abstract (up to 300 words), the article must have keywords, introduction, theoretical framework, data and method, conclusion and a list of sources.
  5. The articles prepared by MA and PhD students with the cooperation of supervisors or advisors must necessarily be sent to the Quarterly with the signature of the professors. Otherwise, it cannot be examined in the editorial board. At the same time, the corresponding author and the order of the authors' names will appear in the article in the same order as registered on the site, and it will not be changed.
  6. The articles submitted to the quarterly should be sent in the "Word" as follows:

  1. The article in should be provided in three separate files including; A file, a profile page of the author or authors of the article as follows: Authors profile: a) Academic rank and name of the institution or place of employment of the author or authors in Persian and English, b) Full address of the author in charge of correspondence: including postal address, Fax number, telephone number and an e-mail address in Persian and English, mentioning the above information on other pages of the article should be avoided, and the second file contains the original article in the "Word" without the authors' details. APA referencing

  3. English equivalents on each page with independent numbering marks for each page should be given in the footnote.

-For the Book: Last name, name of the author or authors, (year of publication), title of the book, Volume number, Date of publication, place of publication, name of the publisher.

  1. The sources used should not be less than 20 sources and half of them should be in English.
  2. In the text of the article, the number of photos, tables and diagrams should be referred and their approximate location be indicated.
  3. In setting up tables, curves, shapes and images, it is necessary to observe the following points:
  4. The information in the tables should not be repeated in the article in a curve or in any other way. The number and title should be mentioned at the top of the table.
  5. Each column of the table must have its own title and unit, if all the figures in the table have the same unit, the unit can be mentioned in the title of the table.
  6. Additional explanations of the title and text of the table should be provided in the form of subtitles. The results of statistical investigations should be reflected in a table: using one of the scientific methods, and no more than two tables should be given on each page. Figures of each article can include curves, graphs, photos, and maps, all of which are numbered as figures. The figures should be prepared in color or black and white and with suitable and desirable quality and their number and title should be written at the bottom. Photos should be clear, readable and have a scale. It is mandatory to mention the source of photos or figures adapted from other sources, at the same time the source of tables, maps, diagrams and figures created by the author or authors should also be referred to them as author or authors. For example (source: authors, 2013).
  7. The submitted articles will be reviewed confidentially by two referees.
  8. The correspondent author is responsible for the scientific and legal validity of the article.
  9. Translated articles are generally not accepted.
  10. The maximum length of articles should be between 6500 and 7500 words.
  11. The Quarterly reserves the right to reject or accept as well as edit the articles and is not allowed to return the received articles.
  12. The rejected or withdrawn articles will be removed from the quarterly archive collection after three months, and the publication will not have any responsibility in this regard.
  13. If the quarterly standards are not met, the article will not be reviewed.
